Serenity Of Life

This movie inspired me to write a review of it in a very peculiar way. I don't mean to ridicule it since this movie was done in 1940. It made me laugh rather than fall in love with it, which is apparently  what they are trying to achieve especially if you listen to the musical scoring of the movie.

They got the lines pretty good and twisted it a just fine alright, but not to how it was delivered. For example, they all looked too cheerful when their beloved sister eloped with Mr. Wickham and as for Mr. Darcy, his "countenance" is more lustful than in love to Eliza. The characters that I am mostly impressed with how it was represented was Mr. Bennet's, just as how the book described him to be. Eliza's character in this movie is too elegant for my taste and more likely to be Jane Bennet rather than Elizabeth Bennet considering her lovely and beautiful features.

I am not completely disappointed having heard the lines from the book and it was quite fun watching it. I almost laughed the whole time!

Despicable Me 09/25/2010

According to merriam webster, Despicable means: deserving to be despised : so worthless or obnoxious as to rouse moral indignation.
I was only familiar with the word before because daffy duck loves to say that word every time. Anyway, just to give a brief information about the movie, it's about a person named Gru, who wants to be hated by the whole world and stealing the moon is his main objective to achieve that status. He needed the help of three children who has instead turned his whole world around.

When this movie came out in the US it knocked out Eclipse from the #1 spot. One thing I've noticed though is that it's not that popular in other countries. On a personal point, the first time I saw the movie, I have to admit I wasn't attracted to the trailer, until one time, when I heard my daughter laughed at one of the scenes in the trailer (the part when the little girl said "does this count as an annoying sound?") I got curious then we went ahead and watched the movie on my day off.  The movie was hilarious and a delight to watch! I almost couldn't stop laughing. Both children and adults would enjoy it. At the same time, the story is heartfelt and touching.

This is one of the funniest and most romantic movie I've ever seen.  Simple but funny! The story is somehow predictable at some point but it has never failed to make me smile all through out the movie. I had a lot of laughs during the first half of the movie the second half has a serious tone but has deeply touched my heart.
You will also notice that the name of the main actress in the movie was never mentioned at any time within the movie. They just focused on the girl being "sassy." The actress played the role well enough to say that the character indeed a cheerful but sad girl. Her eyes has expressed it truthfully.

Hancock 01/05/2009

Just watched this movie last night. Hancock is a non-traditional type of super hero story. They have a good idea of people starting to be human when a pair of people who has powers get together but they could have made it more interesting by illustrating some flashbacks of their past. The story bored me. It lacks excitement and idea. The special effects were good but were used for a senseless scene wherein Hancock and Mary fought each other over something that happened 80 years ago.

The Dark Knight 12/30/2008

This is the best Batman movie ever! I give it five stars. Batman Begins is next best. Christian Bale is the best fit for Batman. Handsome face, body builder, the perfect height, and even has the perfect voice!
The Dark Knight has a better story line. Heath Ledger superbly portrayed the role of Joker. Hats off to this wonderful actor.  I loved the part wherein he tried to trick two sets of people within a train into killing each other.  The first train, has civilians the other has convicted criminals who were supposed to be on their way to the prison.  It proved the humanity and selflessness of the people. Joker was greatly mistaken for thinking that they would indeed kill each other.

Butterfly Effect 12/28/2008

Just watched this movie yesterday. I know this is an old movie but I'm pretty much impressed how the logic is arranged for the story. Just to give a short description about the movie, butterfly effect is a story about a child who has had intermittent blackouts during his childhood days. Years later, Evan unlocked the mystery behind what has happening to him. The entries he made on his journal makes him remember the past, and the same time his spirit literally "travels" to the past into body of his past self.  This way he was able to take control and change a few things in the past to change what's happening at the present time. In turn, his brain gets "reprogrammed" with new memories thus causing seizures and  lesions in his brain.

Butterfly effect is a classic legend of the idea of time travel. It's somehow similar to the Movie of Dennis Quaid, Frequency both of it are a story of love and compassion for a loved one.  Evan (Ashton Kutcher), in turn, sacrificed his love not to know him in the future to save her.
